airBaltic and Tez Tour Latvija Announce Charter Flights to Gran Canaria

Latvian airline airBaltic in cooperation with the international tour operator Tez Tour Latvija announce new charter flights from Riga to Gran Canaria, Spain. The weekly flights between both cities will begin on October 17, 2020 and will last for the entire upcoming winter season.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: "Each year our cooperation with Tez Tour becomes stronger and it enables us to offer local passengers new exciting travel destinations. In addition to a wide selection of sunny leisure destinations, Tez Tour and airBaltic are now announcing a scheduled charter program to Gran Canaria. It will be the longest charter route on our network, served by the new Airbus A220-300 aircraft, and the approximate duration of the flight will be over six hours."

Konstantins Palgovs, General Manager of Tez Tour Latvija: "The charter flights programme to the Gran Canaria island has been in preparation for several years. We know that many tourists are expecting the launch of this route because Las Palmas city and Gran Canaria island is a very popular destination for millions of Europeans. Studying the demand thoroughly and knowing how awaited this charter flight is in the Baltic states, Tez Tour is ready to invest in the charter flight programme. Thanks to the recent successful upgrade of airBaltic fleet, we are including Gran Canaria in our 2020/2021 winter season programme – a completely new destination from the Riga International Airport."

During the summer season of 2020 airBaltic and Tez Tour Latvija will offer scheduled charter flights to Antalya (Turkey), Burgas (Bulgaria, Heraklion and Patras Araxos (both Greece)) as well as Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh (both Egypt).

As informed previously, airBaltic continues its expansion in the Baltics and will launch 14 new routes to its summer season 2020 route map, including five new destinations from Riga.
