Jūrmala will own a modern multi-million worth Dzintari concert hall/conference hall

More than 9.563 million Euros worth tender for the reconstruction of the Dzintari concert hall has completed, and the results of the tender indicate that the reconstruction and renovation work will be carried out by Re & Re Ltd. Jūrmala City Council determined the winner choosing the most advantageous offer. Altogether three offers were submitted.

As it was previously reported, the renovation works of the closed concert hall will be started in autumn 2012 and will be completed within two years. Investment of 2.845 million Euros from the planned investment projects financing will be allocated from the Jurmala City council in 2012, but in 2013 this amount will be 8.252 million Euros. As previously reported, it was expected that Dzintari concert hall reconstruction works total costs will be around 10.5 million euro, and for the implementation of the project Jūrmala City Council is planning to take a loan from the State Treasury.

Dzintari concert hall is a historic building, and it can accommodate more than five hundred spectators. The closed hall is built in the 1936, and is recognized as a culture historical wooden architecture monument. Large open hall was built 1962, and can take up to 2400 people.

Reconstruction of the concert hall will give an opportunity to extend the concert season, which currently ends in late August/ early September, right before the autumn approaches. Given that the closed concert hall’s acoustical quality is very much appreciated, it will allow Jūrmala to offer high-quality musical performances in the winter season. Dzintari concert hall after renovation will be a high-level conferences and other corporate events venue that can take up to 600 persons. Not only the concert hall will be reconstructed, but also the underground area – it will be designed to create modern changing rooms, as well as other functional rooms. Closed concert hall will be used for the purposes of organizing conferences in the future. It should be noted that the concert hall has a very good location, practically on the beach and only a few hundred meters from the Jomas street that is a visiting card of Jūrmala. Concert hall is located in close proximity to a number of hotels, spa hotels and guest houses that allows combining work with pleasure, relaxing after the conferences and feeling the breath of a beautiful and inspiring city – Jūrmala.

The reconstruction of the concert hall will be carried out in two stages, therefore it won’t affect the summer concert seasons!!!
