Estonian Air to acquire extra aircraft and fly more frequently to Moscow from June

Estonia’s national carrier Estonian Air will be increasing its number of flights between Tallinn and Moscow from summer, flying to the Russian capital five times a week.

Starting from 4 June Estonian Air will be adding a return Thursday flight to Moscow departing Tallinn at 13.25, and from 7 July a return Tuesday flight departing Tallinn at 7.05.

Estonian Air currently flies to Moscow three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

“Moscow was one of the biggest growth destinations for passengers last year, growing 30% compared to 2007,” explained Ilona Eskelinen, Estonian Air’s PR Director. “That’s why we are looking to provide our clients with more frequent and more convenient flights.”

The extra flights will use 88-seat CRJ NextGen aircraft. Estonian Air will take possession of three new, more cost-efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft in late spring or early summer.

Founded in 1991, Estonian Air is Estonia’s national airline. It offers business travellers and tourists direct flights to a wide range of European cities. In 2007 the airline carried 745,600 passengers.
