17. janvāris vēsturē: foto būdiņas dzimšana tiek piedzīvota Ņujorkā

1928. gada 17. janvārī Anatols Džozefo, džentlmenis un kaislīgs fotogrāfs, patentēja pirmo pilnīgi automatizēto fotofilmas attīstīšanas mašīnu jeb citiem vārdiem sakot – foto būdiņu.

To nosauca par Photomaton, mašīnas izvietoja Ņujorkas ielās un metro stacijās. Samaksājot 25 centus, klienti varēja uzņemt bildi uzreiz, negaidot vairākas stundas. Desmit minūšu laikā foto būdiņa varēja izgatavot līdz pat astoņām fotogrāfijām. Fotogrāfijas vēl bija melnbaltas, tikai pēc 40 gadiem foto būdiņas sāka drukāt arī krāsainas fotogrāfijas.
