Concert "Amber Songs" in University of Latvia

Youth choir "Kamēr…" performs arrangements of Latvian folksongs by various foreign composers, selected by ethnomusicologist and composer Valdis Muktupāvels.

The idea is to popularise the choir’s new repertoire, which is rooted in Latvian identity but at the same time easy to understand and enjoy anywhere in the world.

Participating in the concert are "Kamēr...", conductor Jānis Liepiņš and composers/song arrangers from all over the world who worked with Latvian folksongs: Pēteris Plakidis and Evija Skuķe (Latvia), Kasia Glowicka (Poland), Franz Herzog (Austria), Ethan Sperry (United States), Param Vir (India), Vytautas Miškinis (Lithuania), Vladimir Martinov (Russia), Jan Sandstrom (Sweden), Xabier Sarasola (Spain), Gilad Hochman (Israel), Peeter Vahi (Estonia), Hasan Ucarsu (Turkeu), Michael Ostrzyga (Germany), Hendrik Odegaard (Norway) and Nicholas Lens (Belgium).
