«airBaltic» Visits Expo 2020 Dubai

Today Latvian airline airBaltic begins its participation in the Expo 2020 taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates representing Latvia. airBaltic will also take part in the National Day of Latvia on November 27th at the Latvian Pavilion together with the official delegation led by the President of the Republic of Latvia.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “Expo 2020 is the world’s largest business gathering that provides a unique opportunity for Latvia to shape its image on the world stage, showcasing its innovation and sustainability efforts. As an airline, our role is to provide crucial connectivity, and we are glad to support and strengthen business ties between Latvia and the rest of the world.”

Kaspars Rožkalns, Director General of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia: “With participation in Expo 2020, we want to share our journey from being a land of agriculture and forest to the shift made in recent years; of innovative and unique business and photonics, biomedicine, smart mobility, bioeconomy, digitalization and more. In total, 36 entrepreneurs from different sectors will represent Latvia at the Business Forum organised as part of the National Day. And we are pleased that the national airline airBaltic will also be among the participants, as it will help strengthen business links between Latvia and the Middle East region.”

During the National Day of Latvia, Martin Gauss will take part in a business panel discussion on the Digital Transformation into New Normal, which will take place on November 27 at the Sustainability Pavilion of Expo 2020.

This year airBaltic launched direct flights between Riga and Dubai, United Arab Emirates connecting both cities with four weekly flights.
