Summer season – new routes from Vilnius

On 28 March, the new summer season flight schedule came into effect at Vilnius International Airport (VIA). It includes new routes, as well as extra flights to some scheduled destinations. The summer season flight schedule will be valid until 30 October 2010.

The Lithuanian airline Star1 Airlines is starting the summer season with the new route Vilnius-Edinburgh (Scotland). In May, the company will start regular flights to Dublin and flights to Girona (Spain) will be resumed for the summer season.

airBaltic is starting the summer season with a new flight from Vilnius to Hamburg (Germany). The company’s routes will also be supplemented with flights from Vilnius to Dublin, London (Gatwick), and Tallinn, and beginning in May – to Oslo.

There will be additional flights to some regular destinations from Vilnius during the summer season. Scandinavian Airlines will fly to Copenhagen 3 times a day from the beginning of May. Aerosvit will have daily flights to Kiev from May. LOT Polish Airlines will have 2 daily flights to Warsaw. airBaltic has increased the number of flights to Paris and Berlin from 3 to 4 times per week. Traditionally, Lufthansa increases the number of flights to Frankfurt during the summer and will fly twice a day. Norwegian Air Shuttle will fly to Oslo 3 times a week and Star1 Airlines will fly to London six times a week beginning at the end of April.

Currently, 15 airlines provide scheduled flights to 24 destinations from/to Vilnius.
