«airBaltic» to Participate in the Baltic International Airshow 2024

Liepaja. From June 15 to 16, the Latvian national airline airBaltic will be participating in the biggest airshow of the region – the Baltic International Airshow 2024. Already for the third year in a row it is set to take place at the Liepaja International Airport. During both days, visitors will have an opportunity to meet representatives of the airline and get to know more about the company and its job opportunities. Moreover, airBaltic Pilot Academy, whose practical training facilities are located at the airport, will inform on studies at the academy.

For the airBaltic Pilot Academy, participation in this festival has become a summer tradition, which will be continued this year as well. During the event, those interested will have the opportunity to meet representatives and students of the academy, as well as representatives of the airBaltic Human Resources Department. The Planies NFT team, known for their unique digital collectibles, will also be present. Attendees will have the opportunity to board and take pictures in the special airBaltic Planies NFT model, as well as participate in a raffle with the chance to win two tickets to any airBaltic destination.

Additionally, the newest addition to the airBaltic Pilot Academy fleet, the Diamond DA40 (single-engine) aircraft, will be present. This aircraft, adorned with a special Planies livery, represents airBaltic’s commitment to innovation and creativity. The rest of the academy’s fleet will also be showcased. This time, the event will be enriched by the visit of Diamond Aircraft representatives, who will come to show their latest achievements in the aviation industry.

Furthermore, the new airBaltic Technical Academy also will be represented during the airshow. It is a premier training initiative, designed for individuals aiming to start or advance their career in aircraft maintenance. The academy is now accepting applications for its three specialized programs in collaboration with Riga Technical University, Liepaja State Technical School, and the exclusive airBaltic Mechanics program. If the weather permits, it is planned that especially for this occasion, instructors of the Pilot Academy will perform a formation flight featuring Diamond DA42 and Diamond DA40 aircraft, used for daily flight training at the academy.

The Baltic International Airshow 2024 will be attended by participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The event will feature F-16, Gripen, and L-159 Alca fighter jets, as well as a number of other aircraft. The over six-hour-long program will offer the best aerial performances in the industry, unforgettable fighter turns, and synchronized figures of aerobatic groups in the sky.

For the first time within the airshow in the Baltics, the Air Masters Cup Freestyle Aerobatics Series competition will take place, with the best pilots in the world competing for the grand prize. Saturday will host the qualification rounds, while Sunday will see the competition. Announced and confirmed pilots include superstars Petr Kopfstein (Czech Republic), Igoris Lobanovas (Lithuania), Melanie Astles (France), Aarron Deliu (Australia), and more.

At the beginning of May 2024, airBaltic Training accepted its tenth training aircraft – Diamond DA40 NG – for the airBaltic Pilot Academy, manufactured by Diamond Aircraft.

It was publicly presented during the inaugural airBaltic Backstage Experience event, exclusively for holders of Planies NFTs, part of the airBaltic Club loyalty program. The aircraft features a special Planies NFT livery and will be operated by students of the airBaltic Pilot Academy. The distinctive livery design celebrates airBaltic's forward-thinking loyalty program, which offers extraordinary advantages to airBaltic Club members.
