Ryanair brought the first passengers on the renewed flight Kaunas – Liverpool this summer. Ryanair Marketing executive for Nordic and Baltic market Laszlo Marozsi has no doubts that Liverpool is an important destination for Lithuanian travellers as over 300 hundred people used the service on the first day of operations. There an increasing interest felt in Vilnius – capital of culture 2009 events amongst the citizens of Liverpool, who have been spoiled by the numerous cultural events last year.
Ryanair offers a selection of destinations form Kaunas to the UK and responds to the needs of the customers – this season the airline offers very convenient connections to London – one of the most popular destinations of the Lithuanian travellers. Ryanair will operate 13 weekly flights between Kaunas and two London airports – Stansted and Luton. Two weekly flights will also be offered to Birmingham -the popular destination of Lithuanian students.
The General Manager of Kaunas Airport Arijandas Sliupas is optimistic, “We notice a considerable increase of passenger numbers, also the performance records of Ryanair are impressive – 87 percent of flights are landing on time or even ahead the schedule”.
