On 20 July Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the winner of the quiz “Millennium of Lithuania. Culture and History”. The winner of the main prize is Masha Serebryanaya from Ukraine.
M.Serebryanaya has won a four-day trip to Lithuania for two people. In Lithuania she will visit Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, also Trakai and Kernavė, the ancient capital cities of Lithuania, the Baltic seaside and the Curonian Spit. She will have an opportunity to take part in the events of the programme “Vilnius – European Capital of Culture” and celebration of the millennium of Lithuania.
The winner has been chosen by a lucky draw out of 922 participants, who answered all questions of the quiz correctly. Over 2000 people from 51 states took part in the quiz. The participants could take part in the quiz from 29 May until 15 July.
Ten more winners of the quiz, who answered all questions correctly, have also been determined by the draw. Participants from Belarus, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Russia and Spain won photo albums “Unseen Lithuania” by Marius Jovaiša.
“We are glad that so many people have taken interest in the quiz and we have received so many correct answers. Questions were not very easy, therefore, foreign citizens had to think about them or search for information,” said the spokesperson of Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rolandas Kačinskas.
Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is grateful to all the participants of the quiz, who took interest in the Lithuanian history, culture and modern politics, and congratulates the winners.
The winners of the quiz will be contacted personally. The names of the winners are announced on the website: quiz.mfa.lt.
