Nordic Hotel Forum first in Baltic States to offer Skype telephones in hotel rooms

The business and conference hotel Nordic Hotel Forum on Viru Square is the first hotel in the Baltic States that offers its clients the opportunity to use Skype telephones from February this year. The new business class rooms are specially designed to meet all the needs of business travellers. All rooms have wireless Internet connection (WiFi) and Skype telephones that can be used without a computer.

Chairman of the Board of the Nordic Hotel Forum Feliks Mägus believes that using a Skype telephone is even easier than logging in on a computer. “Using Skype generally means that you have a computer and headphones, but here you only need the telephone. You have to enter your username and password to log into Skype and the phone is ready for calls. You can make calls to Skype user accounts and ordinary phone numbers. For the latter, you need to buy some call time from the Skype website, because you have to pay for calls to landline and mobile phones, but this can also be done using the telephone,” the hotel manager said about using the Skype telephone.

Mägus added that as Skype has taken over the world, many people currently use Skype for their private and business communication. “We are a business and conference hotel, which means that many of our clients come from faraway countries that are expensive to call. Using a Skype telephone for their calls means they no longer have to worry about the cost or the distance. At first, we will try using the Skype telephones in 18 business class rooms. We will add Skype telephones to all rooms if demand increases,” added Mägus.

In addition to Skype telephones, business class rooms also offer better views, free mineral water, the option to make coffee and tea, free film channels, fluffy white dressing gowns and slippers, and free parking in the underground car park. The price of a room also includes a diverse breakfast buffet and use of the relaxation centre. A business class room is the ideal choice if you visit Tallinn to attend a business meeting or a conference.

Nordic Hotels (www.nordichotels.eu) is a hotel chain based on Estonian capital, which was established in 2002 for the purpose of developing and operating hotels in Tallinn and in other Baltic capitals on the basis of lease and management contracts. Nordic Hotels operates the Nordic Hotel Forum in Tallinn and the Nordic Hotel Bellevue in the centre of Riga.
