Starting from 12 February 2010, Estonian Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will start code share cooperation on Estonian Air flights on Amsterdam-Vilnius-Amsterdam route. Estonian Air will serve the route as a through flight to/from Tallinn with six weekly frequencies on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Successful cooperation that started in spring 2009 between Estonian Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, one of the biggest airlines in the world, has been leading to further development. In the very beginning of 2010, Estonian Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines decided to sign an agreement according to which KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will start code sharing on Estonian Air flights between Amsterdam and Vilnius.
“Estonian Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines have a good interlining cooperation from spring 2009, when Estonian Air started direct flights on Tallinn-Amsterdam route, allowing passengers to use competitive fares combining the two airlines’ routes on one ticket. Expanding the cooperation and entering into the Lithuanian market together with one of the biggest airlines in the world, is strategically important for developing Estonian Air’s operations. Increased cooperation between the two airlines enables offering convenient flights for Lithuanian customers through a codeshare cooperation, and Estonian customers through an interline cooperation, with good value for money into and from KLM destinations all over the world,” says Andrus Aljas, President and CEO of Estonian Air.
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is one of the biggest and busiest hubs in Europe, though convenient and user-friendly airport, serving more than 100 airlines and offering a wide choice of flights into the entire world.
