The Baltic countries' joint tourism marketing event, which last year was organised in Riga to great success, will be held in Vilnius this year from October 27 to 31.
The "Baltic Connecting" event, that was originally founded at the initiative of the Latvian Tourism Development Agency (Tūrisma attīstības valsts aģentūra, TAVA), will now be held for the ninth time. The aim of "Baltic Connecting" is to promote tourism opportunities in the Baltic countries with industry professionals from Europe and beyond, and to offer them the opportunity to establish professional contacts and engage in business discussions.

Egita Kļaviņa, senior tourism marketing expert at TAVA, says: "This will be a great opportunity for tour operators and agencies invited to the event to better acquaint themselves with the Baltics as an attractive tourist destination. There are increasingly more tourism opportunities we can offer, and there is a lot we can show to our guests."
Presentations from the Baltic countries and a contact exchange will take place at the Lithuanian exhibition centre "Litexpo" on October 28. Tourism industry experts from all three Baltic countries will present their tourism offers, most popular tourist attractions, and key developments in the industry to the participants of the event.
During the contact exchange, foreign tour operators and agents will meet for talks with their prospective colleagues from the Baltics.
Introductory visits, which have become traditional part of "Baltic Connecting", give foreign guests a chance to learn more about the Baltic tourism products firsthand. This time, the host Lithuania has prepared two introductory tours for the visitors, while Latvia and Estonia - one tour each.
TAVA will take the guests to Zemgale and Riga. For the Latvian side, it will be an opportunity to showcase our hospitality and what we are proud of, and to convince foreign tour operators and agents about Latvia as a destination that they can safely recommend to their customers.
The "Baltic Connecting" event is organised in close collaboration among the Baltic national tourism organisations - TAVA, Estonian Tourist Board.
