Mobile application for tourists unveiled

A mobile tourist application is an additional guide for travellers. It provides tourists with information about Lithuanian cities and towns, places to visit, lakes, castle hills, manors, museums, cultural centres and other useful resources.
The application is designed for iPhone devices as they are becoming increasingly popular among mobile phone users. After downloading and installing this application on a iPhone the user will have access to a map of a region he or she is interested in, with all main tourist attractions marked on the map, including institutions providing accommodation, catering and recreation services, their contacts and other information.
For the convenience of users, search results can be filtered by the types of objects (places of interest, accommodation, places to eat, etc) to be shown on a map.
At the Birštonas Tourism Information Centre (Jaunimo Street 3) you can acquire a QR code for downloading the iPhone application from an application store. The application is already available for users at AppStore and could be downloaded by scanning the QR code, typing http://visitin.lt/ or entering “VisitIN.LT”, “visitin” either “eicgroup” in the search box of AppStore.
You can download the application from http://bit.ly/visitinlt.
The QR code is available at http://bit.ly/visitinlt.qrcode.

The traveller will find this application useful at any time and in any place. It is particularly helpful when tourist information centres are closed or are beyond the reach of the tourist.
