Visittartu.com: The mushroom week in Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden

At the beginning of autumn, we celebrate the traditional mushroom week, which takes place on September 12th to the 14th. Once again, we will discover the mysterious world of mushrooms on a mushroom tour and colorful mushroom exhibition.

The University of Tartu Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden organizes a traditional mushroom week in the second week of September. All those interested are invited to the mushroom tour and the two-day mushroom exhibition.

On Thursday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a mushroom trip under the guidance of biologist Külli Kalamees-Pani. During the trip, we will learn about and collect mushrooms that will be exhibited at the exhibition. Pre-registration is required for the mushroom tour. The participation fee for adults is 15 euros and for children 10 euros. The departure for the mushroom trip will take place on the morning of September 12 at 10 a.m. in front of the Natural History Museum of the University of Tartu at Vanemuise 46, Tartu. Please dress according to the weather.

Friday and Saturday, September 13.-14., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., a mushroom exhibition is open in the seminar area of the University of Tartu Natural History Museum, where those interested can get acquainted with autumn mushrooms. In the exhibition, mushrooms are displayed with information on edibility and toxicity. There will be mushroom experts at the exhibition who will answer questions and share mushroom information. Mushrooms found by visitors are also welcome to the exhibition. Visiting the mushroom exhibition and the nature museum is with a discounted ticket: 4 euros for adults, 2 euros for children and seniors.

The mushroom exhibition is prepared and the mushrooms are identified by biologist Külli Kalamees-Pani and the team of the Natural History Museum of the University of Tartu. The organization of the mushroom week is supported by SA Environmental Investment Center.
