RIGA FASHION WEEK Starts Today

From April 7 to 10, Latvia’s capital will host RIGA FASHION WEEK— the premier fashion event in the Baltics, bringing together industry professionals from across the globe. The program features runway shows by leading Latvian and international designers, lectures, exhibitions, and creative collaborations that highlight the synergy between fashion, art, and technology.

The spring image of RIGA FASHION WEEK embodies a fusion of femininity and technological innovation, showcasing how digital tools have become an integral part of the creative process. The season’s central figure — created with the help of a neural network — reflects the growing trend of AI integration in fashion, visualizing dreams of a future where technology and aesthetics go hand in hand.

On the capital’s main runway, collections will be presented by Latvian designers: Natalija Jansone, Iveta Vecmane, Katya Katya, Verens, Una Berzina, Selina Keer, and BAÉ by Katya Shehurina. Their work blends the past and the future, traditional craftsmanship and modern silhouettes. The collections explore themes of personal memory, nature, and sustainable design.

The international segment features BERTH (Hong Kong / UK) — a debut at RFW made possible through a partnership with Fashion Scout — as well as Rimgailaite Costume (Lithuania), Szczygiel (Poland), Ivo Nikkolo (Estonia), ArtisainT by Lena Lumelsky (Belgium), and Novaliss (Spain). Common themes include joy in everyday life, vintage aesthetics, upcycled materials, and statement accessories. Each brand presents a unique visual story, exploring identity, sustainability, and freedom of self-expression.

The fashion events will be complemented by a rich cultural program. For the first time, RFW will host a series of lectures on fashion photography in collaboration with ISSP. On the opening day, Līga Zemturne, editor-in-chief of “LÉOPARD” magazine, will present a talk titled “Fashion Photography for Fashion Magazine”. On April 9, photographers Vika Anisko, Natalia Berezina, Miks Užāns, and Madara Šaicāne will share their experiences, techniques, and creative processes in fashion photography.

The Museum of Private Collections will open an exhibition of antique irons from the 18th to 20th centuries (free entry, donations welcome). In addition, RFW guests are invited to view “NOME” — an art manifesto by Elīna Malygina at MuseumLV — as well as “Layers”, a Baltic contemporary glass exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (tickets required for both exhibitions).

Each day of RFW will end with vibrant and stylish parties. This season’s events will take place at “TRIBE Riga City Centre,” “Space Falafel,” and “Vīna Studija Splendid.”

RIGA FASHION WEEK will run from April 7 to 10, uniting acclaimed masters and emerging designers on one stage, bringing together diverse formats and creative directions.
