The Museum of Natural History to showcase the versatility of Latvian mushrooms

The long-awaited Mushroom Days at the Latvian Museum of Natural History will be from September 17 to September 21. Every autumn, the exhibition and the accompanying events present to the public the vast array of mushrooms that can be found in Latvia.

Mushrooms picked in Latvia are on show on the second floor of the museum – edible, poisonous and rare mushrooms. Experts from the Association of Latvian Mycologists will offer advice to the visitors. Children who come to see the exhibition, on the other hand, will be able to learn what a mushroom actually is, how it is built, create a custom exhibition of mushrooms, and watch mushrooms through binoculars.

This year, the exhibition also showcases household items, handiwork and decorations from the collection of the Riga Art Nouveau Museum.

The exhibition is updated on a daily basis.
