Discover the charm of the Latvian regions at "Balttour 2015"!

From 6 to 8 February, The International Travel Trade Fair "Balttour 2015" will present all regions of Latvia - Kurzeme, Zemgale, Vidzeme, Latgale and Sēlija - offering exciting travel and leisure opportunities for all tastes and inviting everyone to enjoy holidays, see colourful Latvia, get ideas, travel at competitive prices and buy something truly Latvian!

Theme Hall "Travel Latvia!" at the 22th International Travel Trade Fair "Balttour 2015" will warmly welcome each visitor and will show the wealth and diversity of our country. Representatives from all regions of Latvia will present unique and attractive offer for tourists – new routes, travel and leisure opportunities, a variety of attractions, historical buildings and places, lodging offers, culinary traditions, handicrafts, concerts and festivals, and more other interesting things!

ZEMGALE and SĒLIJA
The collective booth of Zemgale will not only present Zemgale Region but also the historical region of Sēlija that includes the parishes like Aknīste, Ilūkste, Jaunjelgava, Jēkabpils, Nereta, Sala and Viesīte.

How the beverage of Bauska Town Council is brewed?
Bauska invites to Zemgale booth where the “Bauskas alus” brewery will hold the presentation and show all the stages of brewing refreshing beer. To determine the recommended intake of Bauska beer, every visitor will be tested with the innovative souvenir - drinkmetre.

Photo shoots for children and adults
Both small and adult visitors will be able to have fun and have one’s pictures taken with two cute characters - Little Lamb from Rabbit Town of Code parish and Linx of Jēkabpils parish. The Bauska Motor Museum will also welcome those willing to be immortalised in pictures! The Mother Forest of Tērvete will tell tiniest visitors interesting and educational stories about nature and its creatures. The soap maker Andris from Sēlija will unveil the secrets of making soap!

Fascinating stories, games and delicacies
Zemgale booth this year will offer much of interesting stories. Normunds Jērums from the Tērvete History Museum will tell about the ancient times and interesting medieval games in Tērvete Visitors will meet the Lord of Ērberģe Manor and the Blue Lady of Nereta there.Visitors will be able to not only participate in a variety of activities, but also try beer, wine, bread, honey, treats of sea buckthorn and other environmental products of Tērvete and home-made garlic hard candies from Jelgava. Viesīte parish will offer delicious chicory, barley, acorn and carrot coffee.

KURZEME

Sirmais Žiperis goes to Kipsala!
The Kurzeme booth will present unique and innovative creations made by skilled craftsmen. “Sirmais Žiperis”, a wooden limousine, will arrive in Kipsala for the first time and everyone will have an opportunity to take the role of its driver or passenger!

For romanticists and those having a sweet tooth
In a romantic atmosphere with wine and cheese, the Ancient Valley of Abava will introduce the new hiking trails. Tukums will offer a special rose cocktail and will share its recipe. The Chocolate Museum will help to plan the most ravishing moments of life. Saldus, a sweetest town in Latvia, also called “the honey drop of Kurzeme” will tell about the revival of the Sweet Festival that will delight townspeople and guests during summer!

LATGALE

Meet Latgalian artisans and learn from them!
Latgale can take pride in its golden-handed craftsmen and home manufacturers, and the exhibition will abundantly represent delicious organic products and practical handicrafts. In the potter’s workshop everyone will be able not only to watch the process of making earthenware, but also to try one’s hand in this ancient craft. You are welcome to taste home-baked bread and caraway cheese, wash it down with Latgale beer brewed according to ancient traditions and served in wooden cups.

Moreover, the visitors of "Balttour 2015" will receive extensive information on a variety of travel opportunities throughout Latgale, about the sights of this beautiful region and the latest offerings from 33 theme villages of Latgale!

VIDZEME

Tobogganing and labyrinth
Vidzeme booth will present especially interesting and fun events this year. A genuine Olympic sled from Sigulda will travel to Kipsala, and everyone will have an opportunity to take the role of an athlete luger on an impromptu piece of a luge track. Afterwards, take a guided tour into a labyrinth and explore beautiful sites of the lower reaches of the River Daugava. To it more fun, before entering the labyrinth, visitors will have an opportunity to determine the type of their traveller’s gene to help select the most appropriate route.

Crafts and delicacies
Lielvārde traditionally offers visitors to see and try on Lielvārde belts of different length and width, refresh the memory of all characters of the epos "Lāčplēsis", then go to the Vidzeme booth and try Līgatne homemade wine, pine cone jam and other delicacies.

All three exhibition days the thematic hall "Travel Latvia!" will offer an extensive programme of cultural events. Artists from different regions of Latvia and national stands of other countries will delight visitors with songs, dances, theatrical performances and a variety of other surprises!

As reported earlier, the opening of new travel season, the 22nd International Travel Trade Fair "Balttour 2015" will be held at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre from 6 to 8 February. The exhibition is held by the Association of Latvian Travel Agents (ALTA) in collaboration with the International Exhibition Company BT 1. Egypt - Partner State of "Balttour 2015".
