On January 27th and 28th at 19:00 in Liepāja Museum lobby, Kūrmāja prospectus 16/18, restaurant “Oskars” will offer a dinner with multi-layer menu which will be complemented by specially selected wines and sommelier`s Mārtiņš Koreckis narration about them. In turn, the dinner guest will be able to look at particularly exposed Liepāja Museum tin collection.
In Liepāja Musem there is cherished broad and important tin products collection made by Liepāja tin masters. Dinner guests will have unique opportunity to view the most beautiful objects of this collection.

Tin belongs to those metals whose people discovered and began to use in olden times. It is silver-grey, matt glittering, soft metal with low melting temperature. Tin is good at processing, resistant to air and moisture influence.
Position of tin molder belongs to already forgotten sector of crafts, although even a hundred years ago ware of tin where widely circulated. For centuries, people used tin plates, bowls, spoons and cups. Guild houses and journeyman brotherhoods had a lot of jugs and beakers, pharmacies used a variety of tin-made dishes and so on.
Restaurant “Oskars” in cooperation with Liepāja Museum has prepared a special menu paying attention to each detail to both the gastronomy and the environment, complementing museum's exquisite interior with candle light and performance by “Liepājas Trio” – giving a full bouquet of emotions to dinner guests.
