Latest Trends in Leisure and Tourism at Balttour 2019 Travel Fair

Unusual walking routes and leisure activities at JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) tourism and recreation facilities are among the top choices of travellers and those wanting to discover the hidden treasures of Latvia at Zemgale Region stand at Balttour 2019 International Travel Trade Fair, which takes place this weekend.

LVM tourism and recreation facilities are represented among 470 stands and 850 tourism companies from 41 countries of the world; the exhibition takes place in Ķīpsala Exhibition Centre from 1 to 3 February. At its stand, LVM tells about this year’s upcoming events at tourist facilities and invites all interested to enjoy recreation in nature.

Representatives of Latvia's State Forest Nature Park in Tērvete tell about last year’s record in the number of visitors and the celebration of the Park’s 60th anniversary, as well as about this year’s upcoming events and festivals. The Latvian Forest Days should be mentioned as one of the most ambitious forestry events, and it will take place in the Nature Park on 24 and 25 May.

Visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the new Park booklet and holiday guide, which introduces LVM's top 15 tourist and recreation sites throughout Latvia. Tērvete Reservoir is a great attraction for visitors, where anglers can enjoy a good catch of pikes, perches and roaches. Also in the winter season! In turn, those interested in more relaxed recreation will appreciate the accommodation and bird watching opportunities in the water reservoir area.

Visit to Zemgale Region stand is made even more exciting by a lottery organised by the Butterflies of Tērvete, which will take place all day long on 1 and 3 February. It is a great opportunity to visit the Butterflies of Tērvete. In addition, on 3 February, the Little Dwarf of LVM Nature Park in Tērvete will also attend the exhibition and will be happy to meet and make friends with the youngest visitors of the exhibition.

"You can learn about the latest tourism trends at the exhibition, get acquainted with the news of the regions of Latvia and meet people who enjoy rest and know what it takes to spend a good time with family or friends. Visitors are lured here with lotteries, gifts, unusual travel routes and interactive billboards," says Ruta Freidenfelde, representative of LVM Nature Park in Tērvete.

LVM Pokaiņi Forest tells visitors about the history of the forest, the upcoming events and the opportunity to walk through the unusual forest. Visitors will admire and will definitely be fascinated by the Great Stone of Pokaiņi.

In the stands of municipalities, there is information about other LVM recreation facilities such as Jaunmokas Palace, Recreation and Tourism Centres "Ezernieki" and "Spāre", as well as LVM Kalsnava Arboretum.

From 1 to 3 February, Ķīpsala International Exhibition Centre will host Balttour 2019 International Travel Trade Fair. It is the largest and most important tourism exhibition in the Baltics, which annually opens the new tourism season in the region and creates a festive feeling for both industry professionals and travel enthusiasts.
