Karosta Light Festival at the end of October

At the end of October, a Festival of Lights takes place in Latvija, Lipeāja in Redans, 14.novembra boulevard 82/86, which lasts for three evenings as part of the Karosta Light Festival.

More than 100 students from Liepāja have already participated in the festival, spending two months making lamps from various reusable materials. The lamps made by the students will be exhibited in the Redana and returned to their creators after the festival.

Several well-known Latvian artists will be present with their light objects. Egons Peršēvics will make a light puzzle for the festival and also exhibit his light objects from previous years. Kirils Panteļējevs will "open" the eyes of the Redan trees.

The Karosta Light Festival will take place on three evenings - 28, 29 and 30 October. Each evening will begin at 18:00.

At 19:00, visitors will enjoy music from various entertainers around the bonfire. On Friday evening, for example, singer-songwriter Arnis Miltiņš and his daughter Lauma will perform heartfelt songs and delight the visitors. On Sunday, in the warm atmosphere of the campfire, Robert Dinters and Zanda Strause will perform a variety of well-known and lesser-known songs to sing along and listen to, to love and not to love, but definitely to feel with, all acoustically, with just their voices and guitars.

Every evening at 21:00 there will be a fire show.

There will be a buffet at the festival, you can buy accessories with lights, get inspired by the artists' ideas and paint your face with reflective colours. All visitors can participate in lighting a name that means a lot to all of us by adding a candle of their own. Festival goers are invited to bring their candles.

Karosta Light Festival is organised by Karosta Rescue Society in cooperation with Karosta Prison II Ltd and with the support of Liepaja City Council.
