The South Kurzeme Tourism Center invites all nature and adventure enthusiasts to the tourism festival "BĀRTAS AUTUMN 2024," which will traditionally take place at the "ODS" recreation base in Bārta parish. During the festival, participants will explore the scenic shores and forest trails of the Bārta River, enjoying the beauty of autumn and spending quality time with family or friends. The event offers a wide range of activities suitable for all age groups and interests.
The festival's main attraction will be an exciting canoeing adventure on the Bārta River. During the one-day descent, participants will complete various fun and engaging tasks. Traditional water tourism competitions will also be held, including speed descents, slalom courses, and team competitions, which will be enjoyable for both athletes and spectators.

The orienteering club "DR-Krasts" will organize orienteering competitions that will lead participants through forest trails, thickets, hills, and valleys, providing a thrilling experience for those who feel most at home in the woods.
The "Priekules Veloklubs" association, in collaboration with the South Kurzeme Sports Administration, will organize cycling competitions. The competitions will take place on September 14th and will be the final stage of the South Kurzeme MTB Championship in cyclocross, offering an opportunity for both young and older participants. Special attention is given to young cyclists and those just starting their cycling journeys.
Children will have various entertainment options, where they can participate either with their parents or independently. The festival will also feature opportunities to explore, taste, and purchase local crafts and homemade products.
On the evening of September 14th, all participants are invited to a dance party, accompanied by the band "Noslēpums." Alongside all the water and forest activities, home café owners from the South Kurzeme region are also invited to gather and share their experiences and reflections.
On September 15th, we offer a hike through the forest trails of Bārta parish as part of the hiking series "Explore South Kurzeme." This hike will allow you to enjoy the scenic diversity of the forest, picturesque trails, steep hills, and ravines, turning the walk into an enchanting fairytale.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the tourism festival – canoeists, paddleboarders, orienteers, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts. Come and enjoy the beautiful Bārta River in autumn with us at this exciting event!
