Freeport of Riga passenger turnover grew 5.2% in first seven months

In the first seven months of 2012, the Freeport of Riga serviced 484,538 passengers (including cruise ship passengers), 5.2 percent more than in the corresponding period in 2011, according to the port's data.

In the first seven months of 2012, the Freeport of Riga serviced 50,868 cruise ship passengers, 24 percent more than in the respective period in 2011.

This past August, the port also welcomed its 1,000th cruise ship since 2000. The luxury class cruise ship had approximately 1,000 passengers and over 500 staff.
