British Airways grows its Riga schedule to launch daily flights

Following the successful launch of its winter season, the UK flag carrier, British Airways is set to increase its schedule to a daily flight between Riga Airport and London Heathrow. Tickets are available to book on BA.com today for travel during Winter 2024.

The increase in flights will provide further opportunities for both passengers and the entire tourism industry. The daily flight will launch between the capitals of Latvia and Great Britain on Monday 28 October. Flights will operate on a mix of A320 and A321 aircraft, with return fares available from 90 EUR.

“We are grateful to British Airways for their cooperation and confidence in the growth potential of this important route for our passengers, increasing the frequency of flights to seven times a week. The daily flights and significantly improved flight times will expand the opportunities for passengers to fly connecting flights through London Heathrow Airport to North America, Asia, and other destinations daily. We also appreciate the investment of the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency in the work with the carrier and the opportunity to invest in the promotion of Riga as a travel destination both in the United Kingdom and in the wider network of British Airways routes,” says Laila Odiņa, Chairperson of the Board of RIX Riga Airport.

British Airways’ Regional Commercial Manager, Emil Delibashev said: “We’re excited to increase this route between London and Riga for the winter season. The new schedule means customers can take advantage of our onward connections from London Heathrow, including the rest of the UK or even the USA.

This is an important route as we continue our investment programme into new products, services, and technology.”
“Since British Airways resumed flights to Riga last October, the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency has established a successful cooperation with the airline in marketing. This has also been one of the factors that made it possible to increase the number of flights in such a short time. Daily flights from London Heathrow Airport, as well as connections with US airports, will enable Riga to attract more and more paying tourists. Also this summer and winter season, we are planning joint campaigns with British Airways to address an even wider audience of travellers,” says Fredis Bikovs, Director of the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency.

British Airways is the national carrier of Great Britain, a global full-service airline that operates flights to more than 65 countries. British Airways customers have access to one of the world’s most extensive flight networks, both domestically and internationally, offering flights to and from central airports at convenient times and through its sustainability programme, BA Better World, the airline is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The airline previously operated flights to Riga from 1997 to 2007.

The 2024 winter flight season will begin on 28 October.
