Additionally, airBaltic carried 434 100 passengers in May 2024 – a slight 1% decrease compared to May 2023. Despite the minor decline in one month’s passenger count, the airline maintains confident financial performance with rising revenue. Furthermore, in May, airBaltic operated 4 300 flights, marking a 3% increase from the previous year.
Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic: “During May, airBaltic continued to demonstrate confident financial and operational performance, with increased revenue. At the beginning of May, we expanded our network by launching 15 new destinations from all our home bases, including seven new countries in Southeast Europe. We are dedicated to ensuring the best connectivity between the Baltics and the rest of the world, as well as enhancing the passenger experience and contributing to the economy.”
“During the upcoming months, we plan to continue expanding our network by launching new Pop-Up and scheduled flights, continuing our operations from our seasonal base in Gran Canaria, and launching direct flights to a unique new destination – Madeira. These developments are expected to further boost our traffic across the Baltic region and beyond,” Gauss added.
During the first three months, airBaltic achieved record-breaking Q1 revenue of over EUR 132 million, a 27% increase from 2023, while passenger numbers reaching another historic peak with a 20% rise. Earlier this year, airBaltic Group reported an all-time record profit of EUR 34 million for 2023.
Last month airBaltic expanded its network by launching 15 new routes, including seven new countries in Southeast Europe.
