«airBaltic» Appoints New Chief Information Officer Dainis Bērziņš

The Latvian national airline airBaltic has announced the appointment of Dainis Bērziņš as the new Chief Information Officer. Bērziņš will be responsible for leading the airline's IT strategy, overseeing digital transformation, information and data management and enhancing customer experience through innovative technology solutions.

Dainis Bērziņš joins airBaltic with extensive experience in the IT sector. He has been leading the Baltic IT organization at Rimi Baltic, where he played a pivotal role in steering the company towards greater digitalization and creating compelling customer experiences.

Before joining Rimi Baltic, Bērziņš held several key positions, including Head of IT Delivery at Swedbank, where he was responsible for IT delivery in Sweden and the Baltics, as well as various other IT management roles at Swedbank, and Division Director at Siemens IT Solutions and Services. His experience also includes roles at Erskine Management Consultancy, aquila, Result, Hansabanka, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Bērziņš holds an MBA in Information Systems and Management from NYU Stern School of Business, where he also earned a Digital Economy Initiative certificate (1999 – 2001). He completed his undergraduate studies at UCL, obtaining a BEng in Electronic Engineering with Computer Science (1990 – 1993).
