«airBaltic» Expands Technical Academy Enrollment and Announces Open Day

Due to high demand, strong interest, and the successful launch of the new Technical Academy, the Latvian airline airBaltic has announced 25 additional places in the academy’s Mechanics Program, providing individuals with a pathway to start careers in aviation as certified aircraft technicians. This expanded intake reflects the growing appeal of airBaltic’s specialized training programs, with selected candidates set to begin training at the beginning of 2025 (the exact date will be specified).

Applications are open until 20 December 2024 and can be submitted here:  [email protected] or airBaltic People | Mechanics Program

The airBaltic Technical Academy Mechanics Program is a career advancement opportunity for individuals with technical skills who want to grow in aviation maintenance. This four-year program, conducted at airBaltic's Technical Department in RIX Riga Airport, offers a unique work-and-learn model with a full salary. From day one, participants are employed by airBaltic, dedicating three years to becoming aircraft mechanics while working towards EASA Part-66 certification. They will also receive Airbus A220-300 type training and on-the-job practical experience. The program prepares high-quality aircraft maintenance technicians in either category B1 (mechanical) or B2 (electrical and electronic systems), culminating in certification as an airBaltic certifying circraft technician.

With facilities in Riga and Liepāja, the academy supports airBaltic's goal of recruiting and training nearly 400 new aviation maintenance professionals by 2030. Offering three specialized programs, the Technical Academy provides free education, opportunities to combine work and study, and guaranteed employment in a highly skilled profession.

To support potential applicants and anyone interested in learning more about this career path, airBaltic invites to join the Technical Academy Mechanics Program Online Open Day on Wednesday, November 27, from 12:00 to 14:00 (Riga time).
