«airBaltic» and «Air India» Announce Cooperation

The Latvian national airline airBaltic and Air India, the flag carrier of India, announce the start of a new cooperation through the signing of a Special Prorate Agreement. This partnership will enable both airlines to sell connecting tickets that include flights operated by each other, allowing for seamless travel between Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and India.

The agreement expands the route networks of both carriers and enhances travel convenience for passengers by offering more flexible and connected itineraries between these regions.

Pauls Cālītis, Interim CEO and COO of airBaltic: “Announced during this year’s IATA Annual General Meeting, this new agreement with Air India marks the first step toward our air ties with India. The cooperation will bring mutual benefits to both airlines and our passengers. We are excited about this development and look forward to our partnership, especially as we observe a steady increase in passenger traffic between the Baltics and India.”

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India: “Our new partnership with airBaltic strengthens our extended worldwide network and provides easy access to our guests to and from the Baltics, an emerging tourism region for Indians, consisting of nations with which India’s trade ties continue to grow.”

The agreement was signed and announced during the 81st Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), held in New Delhi, India. Representing airBaltic at the event were Interim CEO and COO Pauls Cālītis and CCO Thomas Ramdahl.

airBaltic operates nearly 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and, seasonally, Gran Canaria, offering connections to a wide range of destinations in the airline's route network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region. A complete schedule of airBaltic flights and tickets are available on the company's homepage at www.airbaltic.com.
