airBaltic to Offer Roses 11 Km Up in Sky

The Latvian national airline airBaltic is becoming the first airline in the world to offer roses to its passengers while planes are up in the sky.

airBaltic Chief Commercial Officer Tero Taskila: “The Baltic States have a distinct culture of giving flowers as gifts. One airBaltic passenger asked us to present flowers to a loved one during the flight, and so we decided to offer everyone an opportunity to surprise someone special with a bouquet of roses 11 kilometres up in the sky.”

From the beginning of June, the airBaltic Internet shop www.airbalticoutlet.com will offer people a chance to pre-order a bouquet of roses which the passenger or a member of the airBaltic crew can present to someone else during the flight. A bouquet of seven roses will cost EUR 20. You can surprise a loved one with pre-ordered flowers, even if you are not travelling together.

The airBaltic homepage is the largest Internet shop in the Baltic States, offering everything that people need for a trip – from airline tickets, hotel reservations, insurance to even sunglasses for that special day at the beach.

airBaltic has been selected for anna.aero ANNIES award as the Europe's largest flag carrier by new routes, operating this summer 27 routes more than in 2009. airBaltic serves 80 destinations from its home base at Riga, Latvia. From every one of these, airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.
