Number of airBaltic passengers grows by 24% in July

Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 367,343 passengers in July 2010 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn), representing 24% increase comparing with the same month in 2009, when airBaltic transported 296,754 passengers.

During the first seven months of the 2010, airBaltic transported a total of 1,839,432 passengers, or 22% more than during the same period in 2009, when the total number of passengers was 1,501,985.

In July, airBaltic operated 5,750 flights, or 31% more than in July 2009 when airBaltic operated 4,387 flights. Between January and the end of July, the airline provided 32,498 flights in all.

The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, in July 2010 was at a level of 76% - or 1% point less than in July 2009. During the first seven months of 2010 airline’s load factor was at a level of 67%, or the same level as in the same period in 2009.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 81.8% in July 2010. This means that almost 82 of every 100 airBaltic flights in July departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
