airBaltic Brings 5 millionth passenger to Riga International Airport [1]

2011, 21.December, the Latvian national airline airBaltic greeted Dace Dizbite Ose as the five millionth passenger to arrive at the Riga International Airport this year. Dace Dizbite Ose arrived in Riga on airBaltic flight from Oslo. This is the first time in the airport’s history that it has provided services to at least five million passengers a year.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “We are very pleased of the growth of the Riga airport and plan to continue to be a driving force behind its further development once the fleet of the airline is modernised and its network of routes is improved. airBaltic will continue to develop the flow of passengers via North Hub Riga.”

Dace Dizbite Ose arrived in Riga with her children – Martin (18) and Selma (15). airBaltic has surprised the 5 millionth passenger with bouquet of roses during her flight to Riga, and presented with two business class tickets to any airBaltic destination, as well as a pair of airBaltic shoes.

During the first 11 months of 2011, airBaltic transported a total of 3,153,835 passengers, which was 5% more than during the same period in 2010, when the total number of passengers was 2,998,453.
