As of today the airline Air Lituanica launches flights to
Hamburg, this being the third direct Air Lituanica flight to Germany.
Air Lituanica will operate more direct flights than any other airline
company from Vilnius Airport to Germany – as many as 16 flights in three
directions during the summer season.
“We are delighted to expand out flight geography from Lithuania
to Germany. After opening this third route of the airline Air Lituanica
to Germany we will have excellent direct connection to this country.
This will further boost cooperation in all areas”, says Deividas
Matulionis, Lithuanian Ambassador to Germany.

2014 – Berlin and Munich – especially improved incoming tourism, thus

Germany’s second largest city Hamburg is the economic and
cultural centre of Northern Germany, with the population of 1.7 million,
and if taking into account the entire geographical region, it has as
many as 3.5 million inhabitants. This city is the capital of shopping,
entertainment and other cultural events. The key economic factor of the
city is undoubtedly the port – the second largest port in Europe.
Hamburg is the eighth largest city in the European Union and the EU’s
largest city that is not a capital.
Hamburg is distinguished for its abundance of bridges and
canals, for example, there are approximately 2.5 thousand bridges and
that is more than in Amsterdam and Venice combined. Hamburg, like
Vilnius, is a very green city – the green spaces account for even 14% of the city area.
Flights to Hamburg will be conducted three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Flight duration from Vilnius is 1 hour 45 minutes and 1 hour 55 min back to Vilnius.
