Lithuanian airports hope to reach 50% of passengers of 2019 in 2021

In 2020, 1.8 million passengers were assisted at Lithuanian airports. This number is 72% less than in 2019. Nevertheless, the Lithuanian airports hope that in 2021 they will be able to restore at least 50% of the 2019 number of passengers.

Last year, during 2020, 72 destinations could be reached from Lithuanian airports. Compering to 2019, that is 20 destinations less.

The average occupancy rate amounted to 55%.
- Vilnius Airport assisted 1.3 million passengers (-74% compared to 2019)
- Kaunas Airport 369,000 (-68%)
- Palanga airports 124,000 (-63%)

A study of Lithuanian airports has found a very high desire to travel among the Lithuanian population. Therefore, airports are preparing for the 2021 spring season, when travel resumes after vaccination and lifting restrictions.
