«airBaltic» Introduces Sustainable Technician Uniforms

Latvian airline airBaltic announces that it has introduced new, modern high visibility uniforms for its technical staff supplied by their manufacturer FRISTADS, which is the first company to provide environmentally declared high-visibility uniforms.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “At airBaltic, we always seek ways how to reduce our impact on the environment. Production of clothes requires a lot of water and other resources, so we are glad to partner with manufacturers, who can help us reach our sustainability targets.”

Overall, 370 employees of airBaltic will use the new sustainable uniforms. By choosing environmentally declared garments from FRISTADS the company’s environmental footprint is estimated to be reduced by approximately 34 878 500 litres of H2O eq. and 8 083 kg CO2 eq.*

In April, airBaltic received the highest ranking among Latvian brands in the European Sustainable Brand Index in the transport and travel sector. The study was conducted from December 2021 to February 2022, and it analysed how society's attitudes towards sustainability affect branding, communication, and business development.

Latvian airline airBaltic has published its annual sustainability report, providing information of airBaltic and its subsidiaries performance in this segment for 2021. Full airBaltic sustainability report is accessible on the company’s website: https://bit.ly/3QXk2Kp.
