At 4 p.m. on Friday 25 September, the 16th international painting symposium “Mark Rothko” will conclude with the opening of an exhibition by its participants and a public meeting with the artists.
This year, Mark Rothko’s 117th birthday, 25 September, will coincide with the conclusion of the 16th international painting symposium “Mark Rothko”. Inspired by the great artist’s philosophy, the ambience of his hometown Daugavpils and its famous fortress, symposium participants spent a fortnight creating artwork that will continue to embody and preserve the living memory of Mark Rothko, the brilliant master of the brush.
