ALŪKSNE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH
The church is one of the noblest monuments of early classicism in Latvia built between 1781 and 1788. LAKE ALŪKSNE
It's easy to shift yourself from the town into nature if one of the cleanest lakes in Latvia is close at hand. There are four islands in the lake, including Pilssala with the ruins of the Livonian Order castle built in 1342 and Cepurīte Island where people have lived since the Stone Age. To get a closer look at these places, little ship Marienburg will take you around the lake. The ZZZIPPP aerial rope ride will bring breathtaking emotions over Lake Alūksne.
CASTLE ISLAND
Which one is more romantic - a castle or an island? Alūksne offers both at the same time as it has a castle on an island. In the Livonian Order castle’s restored tower musical libretto "MARIENBURG the eighth brother" tells about the history of the castle in special sound and light screenings. The Castle island also features a footpath around the ruins, a swimming area, a stadium, volleyball courts, a children's playground, a multifunctional service building and an open-air stage.
