Today, on March 24, 2025, the Latvian airline airBaltic celebrates a remarkable milestone – 20 years of connecting Riga (Latvia) to Barcelona (Spain). Over the years, the airline has offered customers a wide range of travel options for leisure, business, and onward connections.
Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic: “Back in 2005, Barcelona became airBaltic's first destination in Spain. Since then, demand for this route has grown significantly, making it one of the airline's most popular. Recognizing our customers' interest in flights to Spain, we have continued expanding our network, now offering direct flights to eight Spanish destinations and operating a seasonal base in Gran Canaria.
