AS Tallink Grupp transported altogether 2156448 passengers in third quarter (March-May), this is 18 percent more than last year. The number of transported vehicles and cargo units increased by 14 percent.
The passenger volumes increased on all major routes the company is operating. In third quarter Tallink transported 158632 (+37%) passengers on Latvia-Sweden route, 240743 (+23%) on Estonia-Sweden route, 981960 (+19%) on Finland-Estonia route and 772333 (+15%) on Finland-Sweden routes. The two ferries of Finland-Germany route returned from repair works in the end of April and transported 2780 passengers. In March and May one of the vessels replaced Star and Superstar on Tallinn-Helsinki route during their docking periods.
Additionally to passenger numbers, also the number of transported vehicles and cargo units increased in the third quarter. Tallink transported 217673 passenger vehicles (+14 %) and 68991 (+14%) cargo units during third quarter.
In May Tallink`s passenger volumes increased by 6 percent, passenger vehicles` volumes by 12,5 percent and cargo units` volumes by 12 percent. Estonia-Finland route showed the largest increase of 12,5 percent in passenger volumes, Estonia-Sweden route was the most successful one in passenger vehicle transportation (+31%) and also in cargo transportation (+35%).
