European Regions Airline Association (ERA) is holding Air Safety Work Group meeting in Riga, Latvia, on Wednesday 30 June 2010. The event is hosted by airBaltic airline, a member of ERA and the winner of the ERA 2009/10 Airline of the Year Gold Award.
The objective of the Air Safety Work Group is to assist member airlinesin maintaining and improving the safety of operations by sharing, collating and communicating safety information, monitoring trends in air Safety, proposing policies, actions and priorities for adoption by the ERA Board, arranging educational and training functions and material, and providing other assistance in safety matters.
Founded in 1980, ERA is a non-profit trade association representing almost 200 companies involved in European air transport, including airlines, airframe and engine manufacturers, airports, suppliers and service providers from all over Europe.
The Association promotes the interests of intra-European airlines by lobbying the European Commission and other European regulatory bodies on policy matters, promoting the social and economic importance of air transport and its environmental commitments, holding an annual conference and other networking events, publishing a monthly journal and providing expert advice and guidance on all air transport regulatory matters.
