Number of airBaltic passengers grows by 21% in August

Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 361,085 passengers in August 2010 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn), representing 21% increase comparing with the same month in 2009, when airBaltic transported 298,610 passengers.

During the first eight months of the 2010, airBaltic transported a total of 2,200,517 passengers, or 22% more than during the same period in 2009, when the total number of passengers was 1,800,595.

In August, airBaltic operated 5,771 flight, or 31% more than in August 2009 when airBaltic operated 4,392 flights. Between January and the end of August, the airline provided 38,269 flights in all, representing 28% increase comparing with the same period in 2009.

The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, in August 2010 was at a level of 75% - or 2% points less than in August 2009. During the first eight months of 2010 airline’s load factor was at a level of 69%, or 1% point more than in the same period in 2009.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 82.4% in August 2010. This means that more than 82 of every 100 airBaltic flights in August departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
