New Circus Festival 'Circus Tree' Comes To the City with an Attractive Parade

'Circus Tree' will bring together more than 100 circus artists from Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Finland, Holland and Estonia. The audience can follow the festival’s programme in the tent and in Kumu; several open air events will also take place.

The festival will begin with the grand circus parade in Tallinn city centre. Nearly all circus groups will take part of the parade. This fun event will begin on Friday, August 5, at 16.30 in Freedom Square and will continue along the streets of the Old Town: Suur-Karja Street, Kullassepa Street, Old Town Hall Square, Viru Street. The parade will end in Tammsaare Park at 18.00.

During the parade there will be short breaks to offer the audience striking street circus performances. A longer break is planned on Old Town Hall Square at 17.00.

'Circus Tree' Offers Free Performances

The pathway in Kadriorg Park, which leads from the Swan Lake pond to the concert venue through the Rose Garden, will be transformed into a Circus Alley during the festival. Each night one hour before the show young circus artists will perform there.

On Friday, August 5, at 22.00 after the festival’s opening act 'The Time Between' (Sebastiano Toma Company), the audience gets a chance to enjoy the fire show 'The Magic Garden' by the fire group Flameous.

During the weekend, on August 6 and 7 at 14.00, a workshop called the Circus Garden will begin on the Circus Alley where each person gets to plant a circus seed. Gardeners Piip and Tuut along with their helpers will guide people to the picnic place. There will also be a monocycles’ rally and the drum orchestras Dynamo (Belgium) and TRUMM-IT (Estonia) will perform.

A more detailed programme and additional information about the festival’s outdoor events is available at www.tsirkus.ee.
