This autumn is rich not only in plentiful harvest, but also in
‘delicious’ events that bring joy to our sights and stomachs. The
biggest, and probably one of the kind, quality food festival – Baltic
Food and Beverage Fair BAF makes its way back to the Lithuanian
Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO on 18-20 October.
This year, the BAF exhibition is going to take place along with the
household furnishings and interior decorations exhibition “Household”.
According to the BAF exhibition project manager Lilijana Dirsienė, the
exhibitions are united by the joint concept and motto – “Kitchen as a
place for family get-togethers and interaction”, thus, everything will
revolve around the kitchen. “The events and tastings that will take
place during the exhibitions are meant for improving, extending the
existing knowledge on cooking, discovering the joy of improvising in the
kitchen, and spending quality time for the entire family: not only for
the adult, but for young chefs as well”, – says L. Dirsienė.

Over 100 participants from several European countries are expected in
the exhibitions. A spectacular exposition, prepared by the Italian
entrepreneurs, awaits the visitors – as many as eight companies will
present Italian products: wine, cheese, olives, oil, spices and other
delicatessen, the companies will also look for networking possibilities
in Lithuania. New Greek, Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian and Belarussian
companies will introduce their national products. French, Norwegian and
Icelandic manufacturers will also be represented in the exhibition.
Furthermore, visitors will be delighted by special decorations on the
kitchen and table themes prepared by the florists.
Interactive space “Kitchen Studio”
L. Dirsienė points out to the fact that for the second year in a row,
an interactive culinary space “Kitchen Studio” is the main point of
interest in the BAF exhibition for those who are interested in cooking.
“Inviting special guests, who willingly share the culinary
peculiarities, advice and secrets, thus, granting unique radiance to the
“Kitchen Studio” and the entire exhibition itself, can also be called a
tradition now”, - says the exhibition project manager.
This year the “Kitchen Studio” will host plenty of charismatic
personalities as well – on Friday, during the special guests’ day, a
journalist, host of cookery TV programmes, author of recipe books Beata
Nicholson will improvise here.
The “Kitchen Studio” will provide the visitors with a rare opportunity
to see and learn the art of making genuine Italian Pizzas from a real pizzaiolo – a pizza master – Pietro Esposito. The pizzaiolo
from the Naples region arrives to Lithuania on invitation of the
“Italian House” company, and will demonstrate his skills on Friday,
during the special guests’ day.
On Saturday, during the family day, in continuation of the Italian
pizza theme, the “Kitchen Studio” will invite families that consider
themselves cooking aficionados. Culinary family battles will take place
here, theme of the battles: “My Family’s Trademark Pizza“.
On Sunday, the “Kitchen Studio” will host the second competition for
bloggers interested in cookery and cookery recipes. In the Kitchen
Studio, they will cook, discuss and improvise on the themes of Italian
cuisine and autumn.
