The audio-visual band "GusGus" from Iceland will perform at the "Palladium" concert hall on November 15; the concert is part of the
band’s tour promoting their latest album "Mexico".
The Reykjavik band has not ceased to amaze intelligent alternative electronic music fans for twenty years already. Originally an avant-garde film, art and music group, "GusGus" has kept the focus on electronic music, usually combined with powerful video projections, throughout the band’s history.
"GusGus" line-up has changed several times; the band has released nine studio albums. The latest album, "Mexico", was recorded this past June.
"GusGus" currently consists of photographer, artist, producer, DJ and composer Stephan Stephensen (a.k.a. President Bongo), composer, producer and programmer Birgir Torarinsson (a.k.a. Biggi Veira), vocalist Daniel Agust Haraldsson, and musician and vocalist Hogni Egilsson (a.k.a. He).
The Icelandic group first gained international recognition at the end of the 1990s when radio and TV stations began to air the band’s eccentric compositions "Ladyshave" and "Starlovers". "GusGus" further consolidated its success with the band’s fourth album "Attention", released in 2002, that featured compositions "Moss", and especially "David", which went on to become dance music hits.
The band has also remixed compositions by many popular artists, including Björk, "Depeche Mode", "Moloko" and "Sigur Ros".
"GusGus" have always emphasized their wish to stay true to their unique musical and visual style that has ever been beyond the canons of popular music.
