A more active cooperation between Lithuania and Sweden
encourages transport business to look for ways to improve connection
between these countries. Airline Air Lituanica has decided
to operate direct flights to Stockholm Bromma Airport located in the
centre of Stockholm from 26 January 2015. An aircraft will be making as many as 10 flights per week from Vilnius International Airport.
“I hope that the direct flight connecting Sweden and Lithuania will
encourage the Swedes to come to Lithuania and see why the world travel
guide Lonely Planet named Lithuania as one of the ten most recommended
places to visit in 2015, says Jurgita Kazlauskienė, Head of the State
Department of Tourism. “Tourists from Sweden are offered the long
weekend in Vilnius – the largest Baroque Old Town in Northern Europe –
rest at our resorts, fare in modern and gourmet catering establishments,
amber experience by following the Amber Road in Lithuania and other
unique and welcoming places appealing for Swedish tourists due to a very
good price–quality ratio.”
According to Air Lituanica Director of Commerce Simonas
Bartkus, business passengers have already recognised the convenience of
the flights. "Flights will be operated at particularly convenient times:
flying to Stockholm and back will be possible in one day and passengers
from Sweden will also be able to arrive for short stays. What is more,
our flights to the airport located in the central part of Stockholm will
save a lot of time for those travelling from the airport to their
workplace. Solna Business Center, for example, can be reached by foot
while a taxi ride to Stockholm old town takes 15 minutes,” says Mr.
Bartkus.
