First charter flight from Japan to land in Tallinn

According to the Japanese Embassy, the first charter flight from Japan will reach Tallinn on 21 August.

"This is the first charter flight of its kind, bringing Japanese tourists from Tokyo to Tallinn," said Margot Holts, the communications manager of Tallinn Airport, to newspaper Ärileht.

The flight is operated by one of Japanese two largest airline companies Japan Airlines with a Boeing 777 plane that fits 245 passengers.

According to Holts, this is the longest (7885 kilometres) and one of the largest charter flights to land in Tallinn this summer.

The charter flight is organised by a travel company that is oriented towards Japanese clients, and organises trips to the Baltics for Japanese tourists.
