Image of the upcoming RIGA FASHION WEEK: retro-futurism from the future

The organizers of Riga Fashion Week (RFW) have unveiled the image for the autumn season of the RFW. Continuing with the theme "fashion is a part from art," including digital art, and utilizing rapidly advancing artificial intelligence technologies, the look of the main model was created with the help of neural networks and embodies a vision of an immersive future.

The creator of the image, graphic designer Olga Golovko, believes that the spirit of innovation, "encoded" in the image project of the upcoming Riga Fashion Week, is an integral part of modern fashion. "Avant-garde elements — from the retro-futuristic visor to the transparent vinyl coat — create a unique blend of modernity and nostalgia, reflecting the intersection of traditional and contemporary," Olga comments.

"Every season, for the past 20 years, designers and stylists have created unique visual images for Riga Fashion Week, which become its symbols and reflect the spirit of the time and fashion. Previously, these were photographs; in recent seasons, we have actively used artificial intelligence to create even more astonishing and vivid images. This allows us to push the boundaries of creativity, explore new horizons in the world of fashion, and even take a glimpse into the future," says Elena Strakhova, organizer of Riga Fashion Week.

The synthesis of innovation and timeless classics is immediately evident in the virtual model, dressed in a cherry-red vinyl coat with a raised collar. Here, we see both the trendy color of the upcoming season and iconic elements of avant-garde fashion, along with wide glasses in the spirit of virtual technologies — a tribute to the progressive and automated present.
