Today, the President and CEO of the Latvian national airline airBaltic appeared on Bloomberg TV’s The Pulse with Francine Lacqua. In the interview, he discussed recent public discourse and provided insights into the airline’s growth plans and fleet expansion, which may lead to a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO).
airBaltic is set to significantly expand its network and fleet over the coming years. The airline plans to double its fleet of Airbus A220-300s to 100 aircraft by 2030. Martin Gauss also emphasized the importance of partnerships, including an extended wet-lease agreement with the Lufthansa Group. Starting in summer 2025, up to 21 airBaltic A220-300s will operate flights on behalf of Lufthansa Group for a three-year period.

Regarding the potential IPO of airBaltic, Gauss mentioned that the company is currently in preparatory, pre-IPO phase and is in discussions with a strategic investor, though further details remain confidential at this time.
