Strong Growth - «airBaltic» Achieves New All-time Passenger Record for February

Following a record-breaking performance over the recent months, the Latvian airline airBaltic continues 2025 strongly, setting new milestones for passenger numbers in February. Last month, the airline carried 289 500 passengers across all its bases, marking a 4% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of flights increased to 2 970, reflecting a 5% year-over-year rise, and the load factor increased by 0.1 percentage points to 77.1%. These are the highest February passenger numbers recorded in the airline's history.

Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic: “2025 started with already two months of continued growth. We are pleased to see more passengers choosing airBaltic as their preferred airline, reinforcing our position as the leading carrier in the Baltic States. February is one of the quietest months in aviation, with travel demand traditionally being lower than in the other months. However, we maintained a stable performance throughout the month, achieving the highest-ever February passenger numbers in airBaltic's history. With our extensive network across Europe and beyond, we remain committed to providing the best global connectivity from the Baltic region to destinations worldwide.”

“Furthermore, in February, we became the first European airline to offer free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet. With this innovation, we aim to enhance the passenger experience and attract even more travelers, marking a new era of seamless in-flight connectivity across our network,” Gauss added.

Recently, airBaltic announced an increase in flight frequencies to Amsterdam from all three Baltic capitals – Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius – starting March 30, 2025. This expansion will offer customers greater flexibility when traveling between the Baltics and the Netherlands, while also enhancing access to onward destinations worldwide through one of Europe’s largest hubs.

airBaltic operates more than 130 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere and, seasonally, Gran Canaria, offering connections to a wide range of destinations in the airline's route network in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region. A complete schedule of airBaltic flights and tickets is available on the airline’s homepage at www.airbaltic.com.
