The Number of Passengers Served at Riga Airport Increased in the First Half of the Year

RIX Riga Airport served nearly 655 000 passengers in June, an increase of more than 17 000 compared to May.

The number of transit and transfer passengers in Riga remains stable at just over one-fifth of the total number of passengers served; in June, 23% of passengers used Riga as a connecting airport for onward flights. 
Riga Airport also handled 1 552 tonnes of air cargo in the previous month.

In the first half of the year, Riga Airport served more than 3.3 million passengers – a 5% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of flights handled increased by 3 % in January–June and reached 30 378, while the volume of air cargo in the first half of the year was 9 % higher than a year ago – 9194 tonnes.
