flyLAL introduces more flights to London

Having announced about intensive summer flight season, flyLAL introduces more flights to London from Vilnius. Beside, two new flights from Palanga to Dublin and London are launched.

From now, passengers from Vilnius can fly to two London airports – Gatwick and Stansted. Regular flights to Stansted airport will start from the 16th of May, and planes will fly to this airport two times per week. From June, the number of flights to Stansted airport will increase up to five flights per week. Flights from Vilnius to London will be performed twice per day: to Stansted airport – in the morning, to Gatwick airport – as until now, in the afternoon everyday.

From the 16th of May, flyLAL opens flights from Palanga: airplanes from the seaside airport will start flying to Dublin, and from the 17th of May – to London. Two flights per week will be performed to these cities each.

„London is one of the most popular cities to which in particular big numbers of Lithuanian citizens are flying, - tickets to this destination are booked a few months in advance. Responding to immense demand, we doubled the number of flights. This our step will provide more possibilities for Lithuanian citizens to reach London comfortably. We hope that this will affect incoming tourism as well – guests from Great Britain will be offered two times more convenient flights to Lithuania", said Managing Director of flyLAL Vytautas Kaikaris.

According to the head of flyLAL, new morning flights to London should satisfy Lithuanian business community‘s needs. It will enable to save costs on accommodation and business trips – from now people will be able to go to London in the morning and having settled business affairs to fly back in the evening.

More frequent flights to London received significant attention of transit passengers from Latvia and Estonia.

“One of the strategic targets set by the Lithuanian air company was exploration of the capacities of Palanga airport. Until now, people residing in Western Lithuania to the nearest airport had to travel to Kaunas or Latvia, while form now they will be able to travel to Western Europe from nearby Palanga. Today, we offer the routes that are most popular among Lithuanians – England and Ireland”, said Managing Director of flyLAL Vytautas Kaikaris.

The Head of flyLAL believes that flights from Dublin and London to Palanga will also have significant impact on incoming travel. By opening a new route from Europe to Palanga, flyLAL believes that more comfortable trip lasting only a few hours will encourage Europeans to discover an unknown Lithuanian seaside and Curonian Spit.
